Our philanthropies make a real difference to members of our community. Consider how your contributiions will help individuals such as these:

Johnny was not concerned about fitting in, he just didn’t want to stand out in his 4th grade class. Johnny’s father lost his job and even though Johnny had grown considerably taller over the summer, new school clothes were just not an option. Helen is undergoing chemotherapy treatments for her cancer and has lost all of her hair. She has become more timid when leaving the house. Ethel lives in a nursing facility and she barely has enough left from her social security check each month to purchase the many needed items. Hygiene products are not always high on the list.

In our community there are many children, adults and seniors who are in need of a helping hand in these difficult economic times. With no paid staff, our dedicated volunteers provide thousands of hours of time annually addressing these needs through our philanthropic programs. Support for our programs comes from private donations, fundraising events and grants. Unfortunately the funds just do not keep pace with the growing need.

How can you help? There are many ways in which you can make a tax deductible donation to Assistance League of Bend. You can make a onetime donation; set up an annual or monthly giving plan; make a donation in memory of or as a tribute to someone special; donate to a specific program, or pledge $100 to clothe a child.

There is no gift too small and every act of kindness gives hope to those who need to know that someone cares. We cannot promise a better life for all who seek our help, but we can certainly let them know they are not forgotten.
